Feeeeeed Me

Today we woke up early to go to our advisement office to sign up for some of the cool activities the school offers. I want to tell everyone what they are but id rather it be a surprise! Some of them are really cool and I can not wait!!!!!

After we signed up for them we headed out to Mercato Centrale. Its the big market in Florence where you can find everything from cheese to wine to fresh fruits and vegetables. We had to pick up some stuff for dinner tomorrow night. The place was overwhelming, I felt myself wanting to sample everything even though it was only 9am!

After the market we went back to our room to kill some time and do some homework before we have class. Then headed to class - which is air conditioned SCORE! So far I am really liking it we shall see how long that lasts haha.

After class we decided to stroll around The Duomo and get some Gelato. I GOT NUTELLA!!!!!!!!!! The first Nutella Gelato of the trip and certainly not the last. As I sit here staring at the picture and writing about it I am cleaning up the drool off the keyboard. It was perfect! Oh, did I mention we also bought a jar of Nutella weighing a little more then a pound.... Im sure it wont last the trip haha

My bible since we have been here is this book I picked up called Florence on A Budget. It points out all the great restaurants, shops, and sights to see at a reasonable price. They recommended we go to some shop called the Oil Shoppe but it was closed! I was so angry it sounded delicious BUT things happen for a reason .

As we are walking to find somewhere to eat, down a small abandoned street, we smell something delicious. Something from this small little restaurant drew us in. We walked in and one of the friendliest ladies I have ever met greeted us. She sat us down gave us a menu and said if we didnt like anything on there she would make whatever we wanted to eat.

I ordered an Eggplant, Tomato and Cheese panini. LET ME TELL YOU. IT WAS DELICIOUS. The bread was perfect and toasted, the cheese was sharp and I could not even tell you what it was, BUT AMAZING. Also I have grown so fond of tomatoes on the trip, I was never a big fan and now I am eating them on everything. This was seriously the best lunch I have had in all of Italy and it was only 4 Euro with a water! Amazing. Definitely returning :D

Later at night our school offered a sort of welcome dinner at Palazzo Borghese, a beautiful palace in Florence.

The food itself was small appetizers - below is the 1/1000 plates I devoured
Everything from risotto to  rice balls. Very good

Ahhhh my favorite meal, dessert! Of course I had to sample everything they had, which included Tiramisu, Italian Cheesecake with berries and some other chocolate gelato type thing. The Tiramisu was my favorite and I regret being full and not getting seconds... and thirds.

After dinner we found a Hardrock Cafe and decided to stop in for a drink to get some American atmosphere that we have been craving.

Tomorrow I am cooking dinner again! Cant wait to see how it comes out!
